Arlington is proud to celebrate Affordable Housing Month in October 2016. Creating affordable rental and homeownership housing opportunities for middle-income households (between 80-120% of Average Monthly Income) is an important policy goal of the County’s Affordable Housing Master Plan. This year’s Affordable Housing Month will focus on meeting the needs of this population through exploring the potential for a greater diversity of housing types in the County – including the so-called “Missing Middle Housing” that falls between single-family homes and mid-rise buildings.
