We sponsor home-ownership classes and resources for first-time buyers. These free classes are offered in partnership with The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), which also provides free Foreclosure Prevention counseling. The first step to participating in any of the County’s housing programs is to read the Homebuyer Information Packet (available en Español) and fill out the included assessment form.
This free six-hour home-ownership course covers the basics of budgeting, credit, the Realtor’s role, the home loan process and home inspections. This course is required for participants in the County’s first-time homebuyer programs. It is offered by LEDC in English and Spanish. Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA).
Credit Class for Homebuyers
